Welcome

Welcome to The Agricultural Produce Agents Council (APAC)
The Agricultural Produce Agents Council (APAC) has been playing an important role in agriculture since 1993 when it was instituted by law to regulate the occupations of fresh produce and livestock agents, as well as export agents as from 2003.
Since inception, APAC has worked tirelessly to uplift the reputation of registered agents and to regulate these occupations. This is done by formulating policy, applying the rules, as set out in the Agricultural Produce Agents Act no 12 of 1992 and enforcing a code of conduct.
Fresh Produce Producers have recourse, should they be defrauded by an agent. APAC maintains and administers a fidelity fund on behalf of fresh produce agents. This fund acts as insurance or security for fresh produce farmers. Should a dispute arise between agent and producer, APAC will intervene and monies owing to the producer will be paid from the fidelity fund, should the agent not be able to do so because of bankruptcy or similar circumstances.
